Builder Roots
My real estate journey started long before I ever held a license. Working with Parrish Builders, I learned how to build homes from the ground up—literally. I spent years understanding every stage: foundations, framing, mechanical systems, county code, inspections, and the thousands of details that go into creating a safe, lasting home. That experience changed the way I work with clients. When I walk into a property, I’m not just seeing paint and décor—I’m evaluating structure, quality, and long-term value. My construction background gives my buyers and sellers an advantage most agents simply can’t offer.
Counseling Background
Before becoming a Realtor, I worked as a substance abuse counselor, helping people through some of the hardest, most emotional moments of their lives. That experience shaped the way I work today. It taught me patience, how to listen deeply, how to communicate with clarity, and how to guide people through high-pressure or stressful decisions without ever letting them feel overwhelmed. Real estate can be emotional, complicated, and fast-moving — but my background in psychology allows me to navigate challenges, resolve conflicts, and keep transactions moving smoothly in a way few agents can match.
My Mission
My mission is to combine my builder’s experience, my counseling background, and my passion for real estate investing to guide clients with clarity, honesty, and confidence. I help people navigate major decisions, avoid costly mistakes, and build long-term value — whether they’re buying, selling, or investing in Florida or the Smoky Mountains. Every client deserves expertise, empathy, and a Realtor who truly understands both homes and people — and that’s what I deliver.
Why Florida and North Carolina
My journey between Florida and North Carolina is what shaped the entire Best of Both Worlds brand. I started as a builder working for a coastal developer south of Tallahassee, where I learned construction from the inside out and built a strong network of trades and real estate professionals along the Panhandle. I’ve always loved this part of Florida — the culture, the pace, and the beauty of living near the coast.
Later, I spent five years living in Franklin, North Carolina while working for a nonprofit, speaking at churches all over the Smoky Mountains. During that time I discovered something incredible: so many people who live in the mountains also have a second home in Florida. They enjoy cool summers and breathtaking fall seasons in North Carolina, then escape to Florida for sunny winters and early spring.
My fiancé and daughters still live in Western NC, and I travel back and forth constantly while running my real estate business in Tallahassee. One day it all clicked — this is exactly what so many families want: the best of both worlds. Mountain peace and coastal sunshine. Two homes, two lifestyles, one life that feels full. That’s why I built my business around helping people create the same balance I’ve found between these two incredible places.
